The price you referenced appears to be the purchase price of an aftermarket transmission unit only. The estimate we provided was $8,900 before tax, and it included much more than simply installing a transmission. This repair requires significant labor to remove and reinstall the unit, new fluids and related components, and factory software reprogramming that must be completed after installation so the vehicle’s computer can properly communicate with the replacement transmission. Additionally, the labor portion of the estimate was less than half of what was suggested in your post, and the diagnostic charge covers the technician’s time required to properly test and confirm the failure before recommending such a major repair. Our goal has always been to provide professional, thorough repairs using proper procedures and warranty coverage. We strive to be the most professional repair facility in the area, not necessarily the least expensive option.
