While driving home the other night, my car started driving louder than normal. I called the local dealership the next morning to see if they would look at my Subaru. They were completely booked, so I called Honest-1, who were closer to me. They told me that they would fit me in if I could bring the car and leave it. Without a pause, Andrew told me that he could get me a ride home if I lived in the area. I did not even have to ask. As a retail employee, I believe that being able to fulfill a client’s needs before they even need to ask is a sign of great service. I took my car in and spoke to Andrew right away. I explained my concerns, and then asked if they could also do an oil change. He said that would not be a problem. He then told me up front the cost of the diagnostic and oil change with possible reasoning for difference in pricing(extra oil needed etc). My chariot home pulled up and I was able to continue my off day work. A few hours later, I received a text message with a link to service needs and pictures. It turns out that the weld from the exhaust to the muffler had failed and was just hanging loose. I called the technician, AJ, and he told me that the much more cost effective path would be to take the vehicle to a muffler place he recommended to have them reweld it. He said that he could replace the muffler, but it would cost a lot more. I was expecting to only receive the second option and would have to eat whatever cost they quoted. He did not push me to another location to get rid of me. He was giving me the best solution for the least amount of money. He wasn’t concerned with the company wallet, but instead, mine. I was able to go to the other place and get the flange rewelded, but it will be Honest-1 that I will return to. One fact I’ve found about Florida is that when a business suggests honesty or integrity in the name, they have come through on those aspects every time. Many people expect to be lied to or cheated, but when I get the chance to choose a place that announces Honesty, I take the chance. They would not still be in business around here if there was not truth in advertising.
